Overhead Cranes

overhead cranes

All GHE Lifting overhead cranes utilise the latest technology to offer added safety and productivity for our clients, and to make daily work easier. They comply with Australian engineering standards and are purpose built for longevity and lasting performance even in the harshest of environments.

Overhead cranes, sometimes known as a travelling crane, are different to gantry cranes as these are typically supported by building structure. Our team will consult with clients to design and manufacture a tailored solution to suit requirements.

Our range of hoists and control and support mechanisms are at the forefront of industries for remote control and full automation for business operations. Lifting equipment such as chains and slings are also available to increase functionality to complete entire processes.

Bridge cranes are used in a wide variety of industries such as manufacturing, food and beverage production, pump and power stations and more.

Typical components of an overhead crane

Considerations for type of overhead crane:

  • What overhead crane capacity is required?
  • How often is the crane to be used?
  • Required span?
  • How long is the runway travel?
  • What is the required hook height?
  • Is the overhead crane going to be supported by the building, self-supported, or both?
  • Is the overhead crane going to be supported by the building, self-supported, or both?
  • Is the application indoors or outdoors?
  • What speeds are required?
  • What type of control? Pendant from hoist, separate track or remote control?
  • Any special requirements? i.e. explosion proof, food grade etc.
